“A David Guetta remix is coming out right now, we’ll have a new Daddy’s Groove on Axtone Records and we’re planning a couple of very interesting collaborations, still top secret!“

Let's start the interview that the Daddy's Groove, Spit, Raw Black are three projects form the three members of the Giovanni Romano, Carlo Grieco, Peppe Folliero from the Italian city of Naples. Has this three names of your music projects some deeper meaning? And would not be easier to operate and work only with one main name?
Actually the only one to have a deep meaning is Daddy’s Groove. When we decided to start this project, we had the purpose to be inspired and re-elaborate the historical grooves of the house music, then it became the Daddy’s Groove sound. Then we have the alternative Black Raw project for the more underground projects and Spit for the more commercial projects. We made these different projects to work on more different musical styles and each project has an own identity.
Try a little bit to specify the role of individual members in these three projects?
Usually we always work all together just getting the inspiration, not necessary linked to one or another project.
I assume that the main project is just Daddy's Groove (to be play at 21. May in Kolín). But what interests me is how did this name originated? And that name Daddy's Groove associated with some story?
Yeah, we wanted to refresh the grooves of the dance era from our daddys, so here comes Daddy’s Groove.
Since 2006, when working together, you have makes some very successful remixes for a truly illustrious names of the music industry (Enrique Iglesias, Whitney Houston, Louie Vega, Kylie Minogue etc. ). How do you choose the tracks for remixes?
We just get in all the requests we have and we listen to all the stuff, we choose what we feel more for our sound to get always the best score. It doesn’t matter about the name etc... it is just about the music we like!
How often comes to you a request for any remixes?
We receive about two or three requests for week, so very often we have to say „no, thank’s“.
In one interview in 2009 Axwell from the Swedish House Mafia say about you, that you are his favorite group, and together with him you makes two successful remixes. The first track "Nothing But Love" and the second for record "Walk With Me" by Prok & Fitch. How is it work with him?
Ax is definetely our mentor, we had the great opportunity to work with him and it’s simply fantastic! He is on the same line we are and so it’s really easy!
And do you have a plan to make with Axwell there any other remixes or tracks?
Of course! We’re just planning our own Daddy’s Groove release on Axwell label, Axtone Records, and we just started to work on some new stuff together. More news coming really soon!
Before the short time you released great tune Black Raw - ERGASM (SIZE Records), the owner of this label is another member of the Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello. And is a fact that many of your recordings from the past, enjoyed the strong support of DJ names such as Pete Tong, David Guetta, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Tiesto, Bob Sinclar etc... Which DJ support do you enjoy the most?
Actually we’re in this business for a while and we’ve a great respect for everyone you mentioned for different reasons. We’re having right now the opportunity to work with David Guetta, we just did a remix for his new single „Where Them Girls At“ and we’ll support him on some gigs in Pacha Ibiza and in Rome next summer. Last year we did a track with Bob Sinclar and he is always a monster for us and a great guy as well. Erick Morillo makes always the difference in the dj box and Pete Tong has just celebrated 20 years of his radio show! So all of them are a great font of inspiration for us!
On YouTube recently discovered Daddy's Groove remix to one unnamed song. And on your FCB profile you later writes that the song you never remixed. How do you feel that someone creates a remix any track and sign it your name?
On one side it is important for us, because if people wanna spend our name it means that we’re doing a good job all around, on the other hand of course we’d prefer just to have around official stuff and not fakes, but this is the today market!
Today dance music often illegally shared and downloaded on the Internet, and I think that even Daddy's Groove this is no exception. What do you think about this issue?
We think that music is culture, and people should give their contribution to the hard work people do every day. People should be much respectful of this even because right now, with the digital market, with just one euro you can buy what you like keeping the market alive. We remember when the market was based on vynil sales and that was really expensive! Some people really couldn’t afford that price to buy all the weekly releases, but now come on, with about 20/30 euro for weeks you could get the best tracks around and that’s it.
Exist a solution how to reduce or stop it?
It’s really hard to find a solution, the only way could be to back to the analogic supports but it seems really impossible!
The question, which certainly of a interest to many a reader of this interview ... Any new remixes, or cooperation? What about prepare for your fans?
